HAUNTED PLACES IN KOLKATA

Kolkata is regarded as the cultural and intellectual capital of the country, one who has already planned to visit  Kolkata would be astonished by feasting dramatic history and culture, the place is well known for its architecture, buildings, food , historical monuments  sweet delicacy rasogulla,mishti doi and Rabindra  Sangeet. It  is famous for several things so when you are visiting Kolkata be ready for an adventurous journey as it may give you goose bumps  while visiting the eerie, spooky and haunted places so if you are brave enough and have enough guts then let’s visit the Haunted Places In Kolkata.

  1. UNDER THE HOWRAH BRIDGE: a spot under the bridge called as Mullick Ghat flower market which is believed to be famous for several paranormal activities people claims of having seen flailing hands in the river assuming it the hands of people who drowned in Ganges  or committed suicide, they also stated that they witnessed a woman in white sari sobbing and calling their name to lure them to deaths which is why  it is considered as the most haunted place in Kolkata.
  2. NATIONAL LIBRARY, ALIPORE: it is the most spooky place in Kolkata as people shared their experience  of while being at the library, people reading alone felt the presence of someone breathing down their neck and this happens mostly when one doesn’t keeps the book at the right place, sounds of footsteps were also heard by them, apart from being the largest library in India there is another fact of being the most haunted place in Kolkata.
  3. SOUTH PARK STREET CEMETRY: it is the oldest spot in the city for burials and is considered as the spookiest and haunted place in Kolkata. It was built in 1767 as a burial ground but now it is shadowed with paranormal activities like shadows moving, cameras dysfunctioning, or capturing eerie images and health detoriation. People reported of hearing nerve chilling shrills, residents of the area live in fear and always keep their windows shut even during daylight.
  4. PUTULBARI-HOUSE OF DOLLS, POSSESSED: as you  will enter the Putulbari house of dolls you will freak out seeing the dolls stacked up on the stands in a grand Romanesque building,  the residents of this building don’t dare to climb haunted upper floors as in the olden days the rich and wealthy landlords sexually assaulted and killed several women who now roam as a ghosts.  People claimed of hearing anklets clinking and women laughing so if you enter upper floors then you are the brave enough to visit the most haunted place in Kolkata.
  5. WRITER’S BUILDING-DEAD MAN WALKING: this building is super haunted and stays deserted after 7 p.m, no caretakers stays here more than one month as regular shrieks are heard late at night, the large rooms in the buildings are said to be inhabited by the ghosts. This 300 year old building is empty and has been haunted for many decades chilling spines with fear.
